Sun Mar 6, 2016 Thanks to Marcia Dieppe of Cookham Berks, whose visit today gave us the full complement of 12 for pre-service ringing. After post-service ringing, an enjoyable and productive all-afternoon anniversary peal practice, ending with a QP of PB Caters -- all followed by a delightful multi-course dinner hosted by Jeremy. A good day to be a ringer at Trinity!
Sat Mar 5, 2016 March is off to a good start, with a full day of ringing. Service ringing was modified (at the Vicar's request) to allow for the Season of Lent. Some of what was implemented included having the sound controls partially engaged (making the bells sound somewhat subdued and distant), and ringing in the Dorian mode rather a diatonic major scale - achieved with the #4 as the treble and the #11 as the tenor. Three successful quarter-peals were rung in the afternoon, including Erin Cinques, Rutland Surprise Major and Plain Bob Triples. The day's ringing concluded with Jeremy's annual dinner party at his nearby apartment.
Sun Feb 28, 2016 A lot of ringers away for the event in Charleston SC, and others unable to ring for other reasons, but with Norman Brock visiting from Carlisle, England and simultaneously ringing the 1 and the 2, we managed triples in addition to doubles and minor for today's service ringing.
Fri Feb 5, 2016 This week's practice was visited by Ella Morton, associate editor of "Atlas Obscura," described online as a "definitive guidebook and friendly tour-guide to the world's most wondrous places." Ms. Morton is writing an article about bell-ringing.
Sun Jan 24, 2016 One of the worst snowstorms in New York's history didn't silence the bells for service ringing today. With Colin Friend and Louise Booth visiting from London, we rang uncovered doubles for the pre-service, and Stedman and Plain Bob minimus for post-service. Thanks Colin and Louise!
Thu Jan 21, 2016 Guests and participants were welcomed to the opening service of the Trinity Instiitute (keynote speaker, the Presiding Bishop of the US Province of the Anglican Communion) with a half-hour extent of Grandsire Doubles.
Sun Jan 17, 2016 As part of the peal/QP weekend (local and visiting ringers), three handbell QP's were scored: Plain Bob Major; spliced Gainsborough and Plain Bob Royal; Double Norwich Major. Congrats to Jeremy on his first quarter in hand! (Plain Bob Major)
Sun Jan 17, 2016 A weekend of tower and handbell peal and QP attempts with local and visiting band members from across the Northeast. Peals scored in tower: 23 spliced (Major); spliced Cambridge/Yorkshire (Royal). Firsts for several ringers.
Sun Oct 4, 2015 Congratulations to Jonathan Barnes who rang his first quarter peal today!
Sun Aug 30, 2015 David Henry rang his first peal!
