Ringers and guests met at 7pm for practice, trooped off to dinner, and then returned to ring out the old and ring in the new. Among the pre-midnight touches was some half-muffled R&CC on the 4 to 11. After John D rang 12 strikes of the tenor at midnight, we rang more cheerful stuff. We also sipped some champagne. UPDATE: We may now publicly disclose that John and Fiona became engaged in the tower on New Year's Eve! |
